Kevin Bachus has been confirmed as the new CEO of Infinium Labs, the company behind the controversial Phantom games-on-demand system.

Bachus (pictured), one of the four creators behind the original Xbox, steps up from his role as president and chief operating officer, which he has occupied since December 2003, replacing former CEO Timothy M. Roberts. Roberts will remain on the board of directors.

"Infinium Labs is entering a new phase where it must remain tightly focused on the nuts and bolts of bringing our service to market," said Roberts.

"While the company has accomplished a tremendous amount already, the Board saw the need for a major change that would consolidate operations and reinvigorate the organisation."

The company further announced the consolidation of its corporate operations to a main headquarters in Seattle.

Further announcements regarding the firm’s restructuring are due in the coming weeks.
