MCV Awards sets £4,000 Gamesaid target

MCV readers and awards guests are being asked to help raise 4,000 for Gamesaid.

You can donate now, on the night or after the awards to help the industry’s charity, which has been doing fantastic work to help the lives of children and young people.

Over 620 retailers, media and trade executives will jam into The Brewery, Chiswell Street, London for MCV Industry Excellence Awards on Thursday night (April 7th).

Every guest is being requested to bring 10 with them to donate to Gamesaid on the night.

This cash will be added to the online fund-raising already under way at http://www.justgiving.com/MCVAwards.

MCV readers who cannot make the awards, or forget their spare 10 on the night, can donate directly via the link.

"In addition to the excitement, prestige and fun surrounding the MCV Awards, we’re hoping that as much money as possible can be raised for Gamesaid over the coming week," said MCV publisher and Intent Media boss Stuart Dinsey.

"All we’re after is 10 from each guest, and maybe some contribution from MCV Online readers. Let’s do something good and help those less fortunate than ourselves."

A full update on funds raised directly via the awards will appear via MCV Online on Monday April 11th.

Voted by all sectors of the UK games industy, some 19 prizes are up for grabs – including Specialist Retailer, General Retailer, New Game Brand, PR Team, Sales Team, Marketing Team, Games Publisher and the Grand Prix.
