MCV AWARDS: In Pictures

The biggest names in the UK games trade descended upon the Brewery for the MCV Industry Excellence Awards last night.

The event began with the Sega-sponsored pre-drinks at Parker McMillan, with eager industry execs making the most of the free drinks.

Leading nominees including Nintendo then made their way up the red carpet to the Brewery. The platform holder would go on to claim two awards for marketing and sales team.

The drinks reception was sponsored by We Dance, with the We Dance girls enjoying plenty of attention.

The awards were hosted by broadcaster Iain Lee, who apologised to Sony having criticised the console’s reliability on Watchdog in September 2009.

The big winners on the night included Ubisoft’s Darren Bowen, who picked up the Special Recognition Award. EA, which claimed the Best publisher crown, and Ubisoft again, with CEO Yves Guillemot flying in to collect the Grand Prix.

The after-show party was sponsored by Michael Jackson: The Experience, with industry guests donning white hats and dancing to the King of Pop’s greatest hits.
