MCV Awards video online now

Leading execs from Electronic Arts, Activision, Sega, Ubisoft, Future Publishing and more starred in a special sizzle video shown at the MCV Industry Excellence Awards last week.

The curtain-raiser music video – this year using Bee Gee’s You Should Be Dancing – played to a crowd of over 620 attendees from over 120 companies.

You can check it out here (if you’re having trouble viewing the embedded player below, click here):

We also opened the previous three awards ceremonies with popular light-hearted sequences.

"The video has become a signature moment for the MCV Awards. Every year it features a variety of people from different sectors of the trade. This is in line with the whole principle of the awards, which is to celebrate the UK market and its professional talent," said Stuart Dinsey, publisher of MCV.

"32 very good sports took time out of their hectic schedules to create this year’s video. The idea was simply a nightclub where everyone in there, from bouncers to dancers, comes from the games business.

"Lee Kirton from Namco Bandai starts off the dancing, then eventually everyone joins in. It’s a message of fraternity and fun during tough times. And definitely shouldn’t be taken too seriously…"
