Xbox 360 cloud saving goes live

Mirroring the way it quietly announced the service last month, Microsoft has quietly gone ahead and activated some of its planned Xbox Live cloud save functionality.

Pocket-Lint reports that certain unspecified Xbox Live Arcade titles will now allow users to to download and resume saved games from any console. It also allows for the recovery of gamertags on another machine.

The full cloud feature set is expected to go live when the next Xbox 360 dashboard update arrives.

The company announced plans to introduce cloud services to Xbox Live at E3 last month.

Sony was the first console platform holder to offer a cloud saving service when the feature was added to PS3 users’ PlayStation Plus memberships in March.
