2K Games giving away sold-out Ultimate Loot Chest Edition of Borderlands 2

Earlier this year, 2K Games announced a 100 special SKU of upcoming role-playing shooter Borderlands 2. Then it sold out.

Fans of Gearbox Software’s brutal cartoonish franchise complained. A lot. In fact, earlier this year studio boss Randy Pitchford told us people had been emailing him threats because they couldn’t get their hands on the Ultimate Loot Chest edition.

But there was nothing Gearbox could do. The only way fans could enjoy the bundle was to gaze longingly at pictures that detailed all the goodies it included and marvel at how a 2K exec managed to fit her pet dog inside the replica loot chest.

And then, earlier today, as the publisher’s UK team frantically overturned their office to check that nothing needed for Borderlands 2’s launch next week had been forgotten – they found it.

One remaining copy of the Borderlands 2 Ultimate Loot Chest Edition. And it can be yours.

The 2K crew is running a sweepstakes over on Facebook, where the winner will take home this highly sought-after SKU: complete with replica loot chest, art book, bobblehead, Creatures of Pandora chart, comic book download code, stickers., map and postcards. Oh, and a copy of Borderlands 2.

And there’s plenty of other swag up for grab. Four people will win Claptrap and bandit figurines and a T-shirt. Four more will win a Claptrap figure and a T-shirt. And ten will win a T-shirt.

To enter, simply head over to the competition’s Facebook page.
