The standalone version of DayZ has shifted more than 2m copies.
The sales figure was revealed by the game's creator Dean Hall via Twitter, who has spent the last year or so overseeing the full production of what began as a mod for Bohemia Interactive's Arma series.
Just over 2 years ago the DayZ mod released. Today, the Standalone game just broke 2 million units in under 6 months https://t.co/o4WjnTs8Bi— Dean Hall (@rocket2guns) May 1, 2014
The standalone DayZ was released on Steam Early Access just before Christmas and racked up 1m downloads within a month.
Earlier this week, Dean Hall told MCV that Early Access eliminates the need for publishers – and now he has 2m sales to back that up.
