Publisher EA has announced a second delay for the Medal of Honor beta on Xbox 360.
Early access to the game on PS3 and PC has already entered Phase 2. However, with the FPS preview due to hit Xbox 360 this week, unidentified “issues” have held up its arrival once again.
“As for the Xbox 360 version of the beta, we are delayed and we apologise,” the game’s executive producer explained on the Medal of Honor blog.
“To the Xbox 360 community, we say thank you for your continued patience. We are working to fix the issues that have caused this delay and, like you, we’re eager to get the game up and running at quality. When the Medal of Honor beta does arrive on the Xbox 360, it will be open to Xbox 360 players who’ve pre-ordered the game and we will extend the beta to ensure all players have ample time to play and provide feedback for the final product.”
As consumer site Spong speculates, it’s hard not to wonder if EA’s current love-in with Sony, which will see MOH (and Dead Space 2) on PS3 getting exclusive content not seen on Xbox 360, is somehow at the root of the problems.
As previously noted by MCV, the closening of the relationship between EA and Sony comes on the back of Microsoft’s cuddling up with Activision that will see all Call of Duty DLC get timed exclusivity on Xbox 360 until 2012.
