Nintendo’s decision to slash the price of 3DS has seemingly had the desired effect in Japan.
Though MCV is not able to publish UK sales figures, Famitsu publisher Enterbrain (via Andriasang) has revealed that 3DS sales jumped significantly in Japan following the decision to cut the handheld’s price from ¥25k to ¥15x.
Last week a total of 214,821 units were shifted in the region, up from around 10k the week before. It’s the second best sales week ever for 3DS in Japan following its debut when 371k units were snapped up at retail.
Lifetime 3DS Japanese sales currently stand at 1,521,326 units.
