Sony’s PS3 could be set to receive another online boost via the support of another major UK TV broadcaster, according to reports.
Channel 4 has reportedly already held talks with Sony over the possible introduction of its IPTV service 4oD on the PS3. Negotiations are said to be ongoing, with any possible deal likely a long way off.
“We're looking to launch on the PS3,” a 'source at the broadcaster' told Broadcast magazine, as reported by TechRadar. “4oD is becoming a platform agnostic product and will be successful because of the quality of the content.”
Channel 4 is also said to be working on an iPad app for its 4oD platform.
Rival Xbox 360 is still controversially without the iPlayer, though does boast a subscription-based content agreement with satellite broadcaster Sky.
