Though job losses are no laughing matter, it’s impossible to believe that EA isn’t taking at least a little pleasure from the current firestorm engulfing Modern Warfare developer and Activision-owned developer Infinity Ward – particularly as the two men at the heart of it are now members of camp EA.

Unable to resist the temptation for just a little dig at his rivals, EA’s director of corporate communications Jeff Brown found some merriment from Activision's raising of its financial outlook on the back of strong Modern warfare DLC sales.

“We don't have the time to comment on the many lawsuits Activision files against its employees and creative partners,” he told Industry Gamers.

“This is kind of like announcing: The race horse I shot last month has won the Triple Crown!”

As of yesterday, the total number of departures at Infinity Ward – including those of Jason West and Vince Zampella – stands at 13.
