Online retail giant Amazon has finally launched its PC and Mac download store.
Over 600 games are available from the website, including a number of free-to-play titles. The site will also issue codes for games on Steam, Origin and UPlay.
Amazon was supposed to launch its PC download store almost two years ago, but the proposition has suffered multiple delays. Amazon US started PC game downloads in 2009.
“Customers buying software and video games who want their products quickly can now download these products straight to their computer with the click of a button.” said Xavier Garambois, Vice-President, European Consumer Business at Amazon EU.
“Not only is this exciting for everyday purchases but for major upcoming releases, Amazon customers will be able to get their hands on products without waiting for them to arrive in the post.”
Amazon's download store also includes PC software, including Microsoft Office.
