505 Games’ Zumba Fitness has scored its seventh consecutive week at the top of the UKIE Gfk Chart-Track All Formats Top 40.
On and off the game has been No.1 in the UK a total of 10 times now – as this is week 30, that of course means game has been No.1 for a third of the year.
Last week’s No.8 Cars 2 is one of two titles to put up a fight. The Disney tie-in shoots up to second thanks to the release of the film in cinemas last week.
The other title is last week’s No.18 Just Dance 2: Extra Songs, which shoots up to No.4 this week.
There’s one new entry in the top 20 – EA’s bargain-priced The Sims 3: Town Life Stuff. Swift sales of that bode well for the Pets pack due for release later this year.
Clearly, with the school summer holiday in full swing, these cheaper games are ruling the roost. 90 per cent of Zumba’s sales last week were for the 24.99 Wii version. Just Dance 2 is a Wii only release, meanwhile. And 32 and 28 per cent of Cars 2 sales were on DS and Wii respectively, with an RRP of 24.99. Usually, mutiformat SKUs sell best on PS3 and 360.
