Apple Europe boss joins Infogrames Board

Infogrames has hired another big-name exec to help see through the ‘Atari transformation’, with former Apple general manager and vice president of EMEA Pascal Cagni becoming an independent director on the firm’s Board.

The company, currently in the midst of a transformative revamp around its Atari brand, earlier this year hired former EA man David Gardner as CEO and Sony’s Phil Harrison as president.

Cagni had been with Apple for the past eight years, contributing to the success of the iPod format and Apple’s increasing market share across 121 countries in the region.

He started his career with Booz, Allen and Hamilton as a consultant, then establishing the French subsidiary of SPC in Paris, and quickly became SPC’s European director of marketing and business development.

At Infogrames he joins Gardner, Harrison, chairman Michel Combes, vice chairman Dominique D’Hinnin, director Gina Germano, and independent Didier Lamouche as a member of the board.

Chairman Combes commented: "We are very pleased to welcome Mr Cagni as a member of the Board of Directors of Infogrames. We are convinced that his competence, his experience in the consumer technology and internet sectors and his independence will help to strengthen and enrich our Board".

Cagni added: "I am delighted to join the exemplary Board of Directors at Infogrames. Infogrames and Atari especially are world-class brands that should experience the full benefit of a new, strong leadership team.
