Apple once again tops Best Global Brands list

Interbrand’s Best Global Brands ranking has once again named Apple as the world’s most valuable brand.

The report values it at $119bn, up 21 per cent year-on-year.

The numbers are derived from three factors – a company’s financial performance, consumer influence and the ability to charge a premium for brand alone.

Google is ranked second ($107bn, +15%), Microsoft fifth ($61bn, +3%) and Samsung seventh ($45bn, +15%). Four of the top five are tech brands.

Other entries of note include Amazon in 15th ($29bn, +25%) and eBay in 28th ($14bn, +9%).

Companies slipping down the listings include Sony in 52nd ($8bn, -3%), Nokia in 98th ($4.138bn, -44%) and Nintendo, which scraped in at 100th ($4.103bn, -33%).
