The event takes place on Wednesday evening and is already sold out. Headline sponsor Microsoft will present each member of the winning team with a limited edition Halo 3-themed Xbox 360.
Spot prizes will be on offer from the event’s Round Sponsors: Activision, Capcom, Gem, Ghostlight, Koch Media, Konami, Nintendo, Sega and Vivendi Games. These include top software, hardware, iTunes vouchers and even some clothing.
Teams from the retail side of the fence include Amazon, GAME, Gamestation, PC World, Comet, Tesco and EUK whilst the best of the media are drawn from The Sun, The Star, The Independent and Future Publishing.
At the first Xbox 360/MCV Industry Pub Quiz, a tense battle saw the boys and girls at Konami triumph over 19 other teams to claim the crown.
They’re back next week to defend their title, but the competition promises to be even more intense, with teams talking quite openly about not drinking. Well, no shots before 9pm anyway. That’s dedication.
