Supermarket chain Asda has launched its online pre-order campaign for Nintendo's 3DS, which launches in the UK on March 25th.
The retailer is offering the device for just £217, though the use of a £15 off discount code (15OFF3DS) means that the actual price is just £202 – that's almost £30 off what most are considering to be the £229.99 SRP.
However, Asda can't lay claim to being the cheapest place to buy a 3DS in the UK. That accolade goes to indie games outlet ShopTo, which is currently taking pre-orders on the device for just £199.85.
Most other retailers, including Play.com, Amazon and HMV are charging £219 for the machine. Tesco is taking orders at £217.
GAME is currently at the top end of the price war with its £229.99 pre-order price.
