Atari quits development as CEO exits

Atari CEO David Pierce has resigned from the company as it launches an ‘executive search’ to find his successor.

Chief Restructuring Officer Curtis Solsvig III has assumed the role of CEO on an interim basis.

Gene Davis, Chairman of the Board of Directors, stated: "We appreciate David's support and commitment through a difficult period in the company's history and wish him well in his future endeavours."

Meanwhile, Forbes reports that the firm is to re-focus its operations on publishing and distribution in North America, and complete its withdrawal from its production business.

As part of the restructuring, Atari said it will reduce its workforce, but did not specify how many positions it would cut.
