Bandai Namco has shipped 1.2m copies of Dark Souls II

From Software’s Dark Souls II has seen more than a million copies shipped on Xbox 360 and PS3 in Europe and America.

Clearly that doesn’t include the PC game, which came out over a month after the console versions and after the end of the financial year. From data shows a larger number of deaths have been registered on the PC game than the PS3 version – while this doesn’t necessarily means it has sold better, it certainly points to a good performance from the SKU.

Also omitted are the Japanese sales which, again, are likely to be decent after the game’s strong chart performance in the region.

Eurogamer reports that the original Dark Souls sold 2.3m copies when Japanese sales and sales of the Artorias of the Abyss Edition were factored in. The original vanilla game shifted 1.3m units.

For the quarter ending March 31st Bandai Namco reported a five per cent increase in net sales to Y368,126m and a 3.2 per cent reduction in operating income to Y42,782m. Net income climbed 6.1 per cent to Y29,702m.
