Batman Arkham duo in line for next-gen remaster, report claims

Warner Bros’ Batman: Arkham Asylum and Arkham City are the latest games to be given the PS4 and Xbox One remaster treatment, if online claims are to be believed.

IGN Italy, as reported by GameSpot, reckons both games will be released on next-gen consoles this Christmas. The report also suggests that Batman: Arkham Origins, which is the only game in the series not to be developed by Rocksteady (it was handled by Warner Bros Montreal) isn’t getting the same treatment.

The newest (and supposedly final) entry in the series, Batman: Arkham Knight, is due out on PS4, Xbox One and PC on June 2nd. It was originally due out last year.

The list of remastered old games being touched up for PS4 and Xbox One is getting very lengthy indeed.

Already released are the likes of Sleeping Dogs, Metro Redux, The Last of Us, Grand Theft Auto V, a range of Zeldas, Resident Evil, The Master Chief Collection, Bayonetta and DmC: Devil May Cry. There are plenty more on the way, too, including Dark Souls II, God of War 3, Xenoblades Chronicles 3D and Final Fantasy X/X-2.
