BETHESDA: Skyrim meets Zelda, Wolfenstein 2, new Dishonored

Bethesda’s E3 showcase last night gave us more details on projects we already knew about and confirmed a couple of brand new titles heading to retail this year.

The Switch version of The Elder Scrolls: Skyrim is certainly a big title for owners of Nintendo’s machine, and Bethesda has confirmed that the SKU will include some Zelda-themed apparel that is obviously not present in existing versions.

Connecting a Link Amiibo will unlock a Zelda treasure chest containing the Master Sword, Hyrule shield and a Link costume. Amiibo from other titles such as Super Smash Bros will also unlock other unspecified goodies. There will also be motion-controlled lockpicking.

Perhaps more importantly, the game will also include the Dawnguard, Hearthfire and Dragonborn DLC content.

On the new game front, Wolfenstein 2 was announced, although a pre-conference leak meant it wasn’t the biggest surprise. BJ Blazkowicz returns to fight once more for the Nazi resistance in an alternative reality where the Nazis occupied the US.

Wolfenstein 2: The New Colossus is due out on October 27th.

There’s also a new Dishonored on the way. Dishonored: Death Of The Outsider is a standalone adventure due out on September 15th. It stars the Knife of Dunwall DLC’s Billie Lurk. Players will not need to own Dishonored 2 to play it. It has a US RRP of $30.

[Billie will] face new Clockwork Soldiers – along with other new and returning foes – and retrieve ancient artifacts in a thrilling bank-heist mission, eventually facing the mysterious, god-like Outsider himself,” the publisher said.

A sequel to The Evil Within was also confirmed, along with a release date of October 13th. Players will again play as detective Sebastian Castellanos who is now on the hunt for his daughter.

VR news has been a bit thin on the ground at E3 so far, but Bethesda unveiled two titles for virtual reality fans – the already confirmed Fallout 4 VR and the new Doom VFR, the former of which will launch on the HTC Vive in October.
