Bethesda unveils Austin-based developer Battlecry Studios

Bethesda has announced the establishing of Battlecry Studios, a new studio led by former Star Wars: The Old Republic executive producer and BioWare Austin VP Rich Vogel.

The development house joins Arkane Studios as the second Austin-based studio for Bethesda’s parent company Zenimax.

"I have always admired and respected Bethesda’s approach to making great, original games," Vogel said. "It’s a belief and passion I share, and I’m looking forward to building a team of high quality developers who want to bring that same commitment and creative energy to the games we’ll be creating."

Battlecry is currently hiring, and will assume an unannounced project as its initial undertaking.

That project could be working with an established Bethesda franchise or a completely new IP, but signs point to an MMO given Vogel’s history with SOE and EA.
