Beyblade game ‘vital’ to toy and TV revamp

Rising Star Games has signed one of its biggest publishing deals to date with Beyblade Evolution.

The 3DS title will be the first glimpse fans get of the revamped Beyblade: Shogun Steel TV series and toy line that are due later in the year. It also ties up loose ends from the show’s current form Beyblade: Metal Fusion, serving as a bridge between the two series.

The game is the result of a major deal between Rising Star and Beyblade toy manufacturers Hasbro, as well as showrunner Nelvana Entertainment. It is part of plans to revamp the Beyblade brand for a new generation of children.

Our game plays a vital role in growing the world of Beyblade,” product marketing manager Yen Hau told MCV.

It is an exciting bridge between the TV series and toy line, providing the competitiveness of battling your friends and the gorgeous artwork all on your 3DS.

Getting the Beyblade licence is a huge statement that Rising Star Games has added another global property to our library. We have shown time and again that we can successfully punch above our weight and in Beyblade we have one of the biggest kids franchises in the world.

It is a massive step up for us and brings to the table the incredibly popular TV and toy lines that we can cross-promote with and really push the brand to market with a three-pronged attack.”

Rising Star will heavily promote the game through its own traditional channels, but also work closely with Hasbro and Nelvana on tying the release in with the new toys and TV series.
