Bigpoint hits 250m-player milestone

More than 250m users have signed up for Bigpoint’s free-to-play PC browser games in the ten years it has been producing them.

The online games giant now has over 1,000 game portals across social networks and media sites. Plus, a quarter of a million new players are drawn to its titles each day, which include Battlestar Galactica Online, Drakensang Online, Dark Orbit and Farmerama (pictured).

Bigpoint’s first free-to-play game IceFighter was introduced in 2002. Since then the Hamburg-based company says it has grown its portfolio to include more than 60 casual and hardcore games.

Since 2002, we’ve strived to bring high-quality games and experiences to the widest possible audience,” said Bigpoint’s CEO and founder Heiko Hubertz.

With players hailing from every corner of the globe, today’s milestone underscores our success – and we’re not done. We’ll continue to challenge the notion of what online games are and can be.”

Bigpoint has over 800 employees working in locations such as Berlin, San Francisco, London, France, Spain, Malta and more.
