2K Games has announced it will be supporting BioShock 2 with an aggressive line-up of post-launch downloadable content.
The first DLC pack – Sinclair Solutions Test Pack – will hit Xbox Live and PSN in March, and adds new characters, weapons upgrades and maps to the multiplayer mode, as well as raising the level cap.
Future downloads will include additional multiplayer content, as well as extensions to the single-player content that open new areas of Rapture, building on the lore and fiction of the series.
“The fans who waited in the snow, rain and cold for the midnight launch of BioShock 2 have spoken and their message is that Rapture still has many fascinating stories to tell,” said 2K president Christoph Hartmann.
“Downloadable content is a key part of our efforts to continue to entice the fans that have 2K a household name – we intend to deliver single and multiplayer content that respects and expands upon one of the greatest fictional worlds ever created.”
