Bioshock: Infinite PC-specific features, system requirements revealed

Irrational Games has revealed the various PC-specific features that will be available for Bioshock: Indinite in a detailed post on the studio’s official blog.

In-depth keyboard/mouse and controller options

In the controls department, Infinite will let players customise key bindings, and the absence of artificial mouse smoothing will allow users to toggle sensitivity and mouse acceleration as required.

The PC version will also feature deep controller support, including the ability tweaking aim assist, sensitivity, vibration, look inversion, and multiple analog-stick configurations to suit left-handed gamers. You can even use the D-pad to replace the analog stick.

Six graphics presets with customisation

In the graphics department, Bioshock: Infinite will provide separate controls for aspect ratio, resolution, and display mode, providing support for pretty much every screen size.

The six graphic presets range from Very Low to Ultra, with the ability to customise settings for anti-aliasing, texture detail, texture filtering, dynamic shadows, post-processing, light shafts, ambient occlusion, and object level of detail, many of which are only available on DirectX 11 systems.

Unlike many recent PC game releases, Bioshock: Infinite will ship with high-res textures right out of the box. The downside to this though is that the PC version will ship on three DVDs.

Steam-enabled

Bioshock: Infinite is a Steamworks game, which means the serial number you get with your game copy will be redeemable via Steam, and this also brings with it Achievements and cloud support. The game will also support Steam’s Big Picture mode.
