BlazBlue studio Arc System Works acquires Double Dragon rights

Arc System Works has purchased the rights to all IP owned by Technos Japan Corp, including the Double Dragon and Kunio-kun series.

The deal has been in effect since the beginning of this month, but further details have yet to be revealed.

However, Games Industry reports the company known for developing the BlazBlue and Guilty Gear fighting franchises will apparently look to resurrect the Kunio-kun games, such as Super Dodge Ball and the classic River City Ransom – that’s according to Arc System’s Japanese website.

Arc System has an established history with Technos Japan Corp that dates back to 1988, when the studio developed a Sega Master System port of the original Double Dragon game.
