A total of 100,000 World of Warcraft subscribers left the PC MMO during the three months ending December 31st, according to financial documents filed by Activision Blizzard.
An aggressive marketing campaign for the game featuring martial arts icon and actor Chuck Norris may have pulled in enough new subscribers to negate further losses to its established user base.
Three months prior to the fourth calendar quarter, Activision Blizzard revealed that the longstanding MMO had lost 800,000 subscribers – seven per cent of its total userbase at the time.

purely a stall - given the fact there are a vast number of servers with population issues it's a temporary stop of the heamorrhaging most likely as a result of a particularly pleasant offer (annual pass = free Diablo 3).
