Books-a-Million launches games offering

Books-a-Million has announced it has started selling video games.

The US retailer now stocks games in some of its 200-plus stores spread throughout the American South and Northeast, according to Gamasutra.

The titles stock initially seem to be pre-owned titles, although it is unclear where the stock originates from. It is also reported that the store doesn’t accept trade-ins.

Stock is also erratic and dependent on what games are shipped to each store by Books-a-Million’s headquarters, but is expected to improve as the bookseller expands into other media.

As we look forward to the fourth quarter we are excited about our new toy, gift and electronics departments, our entry into the video games business, our expanded offering of DVDs and the introduction of the NOOK range of e-readers including NOOKcolor,” said Books-a-Million chairman, president and CEO Clyde B. Anderson.
