Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare beats Ghosts’ week one UK numbers, tops charts

As revealed by MCV earlier today, Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare has bettered the week one sales numbers of predecessor Ghosts, grabbing the UK No.1 in the process.

In doing so it becomes the fifth biggest Call of Duty launch in the UK.

Advanced Warfare’s week one unit sales beat the sales of Destiny, Titanfall and Wolfenstein combined by almost 14 per cent.

Caveats to note include the fact that Advanced Warfare had a day longer on sale than Ghosts thanks to its unorthodox Monday launch. Plus Ghosts launched a week later on Xbox One than on other formats last year, and was available on both next-gen consoles before the hardware had even been launched.

Sega’s Football Manager 2015 debuts in third place while Alien: Isolation jumps to fourth thanks to a discount-driven 120 per cent jump in sales.

Forza Horizon 2, WWE 2K15 and Middle-earth: Shadow of Mordor all drop out of the Top Ten.

Here’s the GfK Chart-Track All Formats UK Top 10 for the week ending November 8th:

1. Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare (Activision)
2. FIFA 15 (EA)
3. Football Manager 2015 (Sega)
4. Alien: Isolation (Sega)
5. Destiny (Activision)
6. Minecraft: PlayStation Edition (Sony)
7. Skylanders: Trap Team (Activision)
8. Sunset Overdrice (Microsoft)
9. The Evil Within (Bethesda)
10. Minecraft: Xbox Edition (Microsoft)
