Call of Duty Elite paying subs at 2m

Another notable info bite to come out of Activision’s recent financial report was the current state of their Call of Duty Elite service.

Over 10m gamers have registered for Call of Duty Elite, with 20 per cent of those converting to the premium version of the service.

That has the program currently standing at 2m paying subscribers, a number that is up 33 per cent since January. Meaning at $50 a pop for a paid membership, Activision has taken in $100m in revenue directly from Elite since its launch.

Call of Duty: Black Ops 2 is slated to arrive later this year, and Call of Duty Elite version 2.0 is set to land alongside the game’s release.
