Call of Duty holds onto No.1 as Resident Evil Origins Collection debuts in sixth place

Activision’s Call of Duty hangs on to the top spot in the UK All Formats charts for a seventh consecutive week.

The shooter saw a mere four per cent dip in sales last week, and manages to outsell FIFA 16. That title hops from third place to second, with sales increasing four per cent during the week.

Grand Theft Auto V sales drop 21 per cent and it slips one position to No.3. It’s ahead of Rainbow Six: Siege, which climbs to fourth place. Sales for that title dropped ten per cent. Star Wars Battlefront falls to fifth place with a 20 per cent sales decline.

There were some new entries in the Top Ten this week, too. The physical release of Resident Evil Origins Collection – compiling last year’s HD port of Resident Evil and the newly-released port of Resident Evil 0 – debuts in the charts in sixth place. Earlier in the year, Capcom told MCV that the title had strong pre-orders.

The other new entry in the chart is the physical SKU of Square Enix’s episodic title Life is Strange. The game – developed by French dev DontNod – was released digitally last year and became something of a cult hit.

Meanwhile, Bethesda’s Dishonored: Definitive Edition returns to the Top Ten at No.10 with a 160 per cent jump in sales. This was due to retailer promotions. Further down the charts, fellow Bethesda title The Evil Within also saw price activity which saw it shoot from No.25 to No.16 with a 102 per cent sales increase.

Below is the software Top Ten for the week ending January 23rd:

1. Call of Duty: Black Ops III, Activision Blizzard
2. FIFA 16, EA
3. Grand Theft Auto V, Rockstar
4. Rainbow Six: Siege, Ubisoft
5. Star Wars Battlefront, EA
6. Resident Evil Origins Collection, Capcom
7. Life is Strange, Square Enix
8. Just Cause 3, Square Enix
9. Fallout 4, Bethesda
10. Dishonored: Definitive Edition, Bethesda
