Casual UK distributor surfaces

A brand new games distributor specialising in casual titles has emerged – White Room Games.

The firm has been set up by former PlayV general manager Luiz Ferreira, who takes on the role of director.

White Room will focus on the casual games market and entice smaller publishers and developers with its tagline: ‘The smart approach to casual games’. It will handle products for consoles, handhelds and PC.

White Room Games will primarily offer a sales, PR, marketing and distribution solution for publishers and developers wishing to get a foothold into the UK or international markets,” said Ferreira.

With experience in sales positions at PlayV, System 3 and Centresoft, Ferreira will develop relationships with the UK’s biggest retailers.

Interestingly, the new distributor will also double as a developer and has already produced its first in-house title to some success.

The other area of the White Room business will be in games development for various handheld platforms,” added Ferreira.

We have released Volley Soccer for iPhone, iPod and iPad, which has performed well and enjoyed positive feedback.

We’ll have more announcements in the coming weeks.”

White Room plans to create more games for these platforms based on either its own IP or that of third parties.
