City Interactive reveals Enemy Front

A new World War II shooter Enemy Front will hit shelves next year, publisher City Interactive has announced.

It’s City’s first game from veteran games designer Stuart Black since he joined earlier this year after leaving Codemasters. The FPS will be developed for Xbox 360, PS3 and PC using Crytek’s CryEngine 3 engine.

City Interactive has seen success with similar products in the past. Its Sniper: Ghost Warrior game was one of the surprise hits of last year, breaking into the GfK Chart-Track Top 10 during its first week on sale and selling over 1m units to date. A sequel is due early next year.

Enemy Front tells the tale of a soldier dropped behind Nazi lines. Players will fight in several World War II battles from France to Berlin.

A statement from City Interactive read: Enemy Front utilises CryEngine 3, a state-of-the-art engine that guarantees a stunning level of visual detail and a truly immersive game world.

Stuart Black brings an extensive understanding and creative approach to the genre, heralding one of the most ambitious and gritty WWII action titles of 2012.”

Black has worked on games such as Black and Bodycount in the past.
