PC strategy title Civilization VI his hit a big milestone just two weeks after its debut.
The game’s official Twitter account has announced that 1m people are now playing the game, which to date is only available on PC and Mac. It’s reviewed strongly, too, with an 89 per cent average on Metacritic.
As it stands Civ VI is the most played non-Valve game on Steam, sitting behind MOBA hit Dota 2 and online FPS outing Counter-Strike: Global Offensive.
“The Civilization VI team strived to create the best Civilization game possible to celebrate 25 years of the series and also 25 years with our fans” lead designer at Firaxis Games Ed Beach said at launch.
“Including all the ingredients for a true Civilization experience, while adding in exciting new features like active research and unstacking cities, makes Sid Meier’s Civilization VI a truly unique experience. We hope that both our fans and new players will join us in taking just one more turn over and over again.”
