Conspexit teams up with Kuju on new AR mobile game

London start-up Conspexit Games Studio has teamed up with developer Kuju on a new augmented reality game. Using Conspexit's proprietary tech, the duo hope to push the boundaries of the AR sector by not only challenging players' overall skill level, but also provide an opportunity for them to "participate in social change," according to the statement. 

More details about the game are due to be released at a later date, but it's currently slated to be released on mobile platforms, and promises to be highly immersive with never-before-seen production values. 

“This is an ambitiously creative project; realising our innovative vision will be no easy feat and we can’t think of anyone better than Kuju to work with on it,” said Conspexit's creative director Russ Harding.

“The studio’s track record speaks for itself and with their team working alongside ours we’re confident that our debut game will be a truly awe-inspiring, immersive AR experience.” 

Brynley Gibson, head of studios at Kuju added: “After the success of The Chainsmokers and a long history with camera-based titles going back to Sony’s EyeToy, we’re excited to take on what will be our first modern AR project. The team at Conspexit are driven to push the boundaries of AR and I know that bringing their vision to life alongside them will be hugely rewarding.”

Conspexit was co-founded earlier this year in January by entrepreneur Eirik Moseng and investor Frank Ystenes, and has since brought on former Sony devs Russ Harding and Claire Boissiere to bolster the studio's talent roster. Both Harding and Boissiere were early pioneers in the AR space, having worked on PlayStation EyePet, PlayStation Wonderbook: Book of Spells and PlayStation VR Worlds for the PS VR.
