Creative enters publishing sector

Croydon-based Creative Distribution has revealed plans to publish games with its first title, Real Heroes: Firefighter, due out this September.

The firm has previously focused on distributing games across Europe, but has been eyeing the publishing market for several months.

Creative Distribution’s new business manager Kevin Young told MCV: Publishing games is something we’ve looked at for some time now, after having provided professional distribution services for 10 years.

We are very proud to announce our first release, Real Heroes: Firefighter. It’s a unique proposition for Wii and is a title that has scored highly by games journalists.

Even though this is our first release, we are confident we will have a success on our hands. This is shown in our commitment to invest in marketing activity above and below the line.”

Real Heroes: Firefighter was originally released in the US in August 2009. Creative Distribution is handling its UK debut.

The game uses the Wii’s motion controls to allow players to wield hoses, axes and more to put out fires and save lives.

We chose this title because it’s a very good game, and because of its uniqueness – it is a positive, non-violent game that will appeal to people of all ages,” added Young.

Creative’s profitability, wealth of experience, constant expansion and full supply chain understanding has created an excellent platform to enter the publishing arena.”

Real Heroes: Firefighter will be released for Wii on September 24th.
