Critically acclaimed indie Gone Home hits 50,000 units sold

Indie studio The Fullbright Company has announced its debut effort Gone Home has sold 50,000 copies prior to the conclusion of its launch month.

Posting on Fullbright’s website, co-founder Steve Gaynor revealed the milestone – along with news that the game has been selected as a finalist for upcoming indie game festivals Fantastic Arcade in Austin, TX and IndieCade in Culver City, CA.

"We're now almost a month out since launching on August 15, and we hope people will find it encouraging to know that, along with the positive critical response we are continually grateful for and humbled by, we are also doing alright as far as sales numbers go!" Fullbright co-founder Steve Gaynor wrote on the company's website.

While there’s been no mention of what the studio will do now that they’ve released their first title (so far, exclusively for PC, Mac and Linux), Gaynor did tease that exciting news from the company is on the way.

“Thanks again to everybody that has played the game, shared their thoughts, and just supported us in general. Look forward to more exciting news soon!”

Gaynor – along with the other members of Fullbright – previously helped develop the BioShock series in various capacities before going indie to work on smaller, more personal player-driven games.
