Crysis, Portal 2, Left 4 Dead publisher EA Partners to shut down – reports

EA Partners, the publishing label through which EA published games developed by external independent developers, is being shut down, reports have suggested.

The news comes from Game Informer, which has quoted multiple sources as saying that the move is part of an EA restructuring, which recently saw the departure of CEO John Riccitello, and layoffs at EA Montreal, Playfish and EA Hyderabad.

In the past, EA Partners has worked with developers like Epic Games, Valve, Crytek, Harmonix, Starbreeze, and Klei Entertainment to name a few, having released games such as the Crysis series, the Left 4 Dead series, Portal 2, Bulletstorm, the Rock Band series, and The Syndicate.

The two projects currently underway through EA partners – Insomniac Games’ Fuse, and Respawn Entertainment’s unannounced debut game, are however said to be unaffected by this change.

There has been no official word yet on this move from EA.
