Nintendo’s decision to bring hit mobile games that have made their name on smartphones seems like a smart one.
So the arrival of Chillingo’s hit puzzle title Cut The Rope can be nothing other than a really smart move, right?
Perhaps. Until you see that it costs 500 Points. That equates to around £4.50, or over six and a half times the 69p it costs on the Apple App Store.
Nintendo’s fears of low cost digital games devaluing the overall software market are well documented. Though quite at odds, of course, with the decision to give away 20 free digital games to 3DS owners.

This was to existing 3DS owners as Nintendo reduced the price of hardware, and to compensate they offered Nintendo Ambassadors 20 free (and i must stress) OLD games (not new games) to Nintendo fans who bought the console early - Nintendo's Ambassadors.

Id agree completely with Sean. Claiming the 20 "free games" is at odds with devaluing games is misrepesenting their ambassodor program.
That seems an unfair comment as that recieved the games paid about £70 more than the current retail price so the value of the games is still event.
Its interesting though because cheap flash games have been around for ages on website but now people pay for them on there phones. but the real challeage is making sure customers understand the difference in production i.e flash / 3d shockwave ect.. that can be made by teenagers in their bedrooms vs proper game engines that cost millions to develop.
