Dance Central sponsors Sky dance contest

Harmonix’s acclaimed Kinect title Dance Central is sponsoring Sky 1’s Got To Dance.

Microsoft signed an exclusive deal with the broadcaster that will see the game not only endorse the show, but also star in it.

Studio audiences will be able to try out the game for themselves, strutting their stuff for the chance to win a one of 15 Xbox 360, Kinect and Dance Central bundles. Viewers at home will also be able enter these competitions through a promotional website.

Got To Dance’s second series started last weekend. It is hosted by Davina McCall and gives aspiring dancers the chance to win 250,000.

As we move beyond our biggest entertainment launch in Xbox’s history, Kinect for Xbox 360, we are constantly looking out for compelling opportunities to bring our gaming experience to life,” said Microsoft’s director for entertainment and devices Stephen McGill.

Sky1’s Got To Dance is the perfect partner for our smash hit title Dance Central – a true dance game experience that is fun and social for everyone. We are really excited to be developing this association with them in the coming months and look forward to future opportunities.”

Sky’s sponsorship controller Stephen Ladlow added: Got To Dance was a huge success early last year and series 2 will be even bigger, bolder and better. We are delighted to have secured a partnership with Dance Central as it provides a seamless fit between brand and content.”
