Dead Island: Riptide will not be released in Germany

The follow-up to Dead Island will not make it to Germany, revealed the game’s creative producer.

Techland’s Sebastian Reichert revealed Dead Island: Riptide will skip the major European games market during an interview with PCGamesN.

"We have no censored version of the game so we cannot release it in Germany.” Said Reichert.

It feels fucking awkward to have one of the most successful games in years and nobody in your country knows it."

He goes on to state that German media laws prohibiting violence against human-like characters as one of the key reasons behind the decision.

Dead Island is set to land on shelves on April 26th.

The original was released last year and debuted at No.1 in the UK All Formats Chart – a first for publisher Deep Silver.
