Dead Rising 3 ships 1m copies

Capcom’s Xbox One exclusive Dead Rising 3 shipped 1m units prior to the end of last year, the publisher has announced.

The figure was reached within a month of the game’s launch, and brings lifetime numbers for the franchise to 7m units shipped.

"With the popularity of the Xbox One expected to continue to increase, Capcom is aiming to sustain sales of Dead Rising 3 by launching additional downloadable content with the goal of generating more excitement in the gaming community that can support a long-lasting business associated with this title," the company stated in a release.

Capcom’s previously projected the game would sell 1.2m copies by March, so the game is poised to exceed expectations at this point.

Dead Rising 3 released in November for Xbox One in launch territories including North America and Europe.
