Dead Rising topples THQ

The zombie romp became the fastest selling Xbox 360 game to date, knocking THQ’s Saints Row down to second place after only one week at the top. THQ’s licenced racer Cars had claimed the top spot for five weeks prior to that.

Despite not being officially released until this Monday, widespread early selling of Lucasart’s Lego Star Wars II: The Original Trilogy sees the title enter the charts in third place, whilst Atari’s Xbox 360 racer Test Drive Unlimited debuts in fourth spot.

THQ’s Cars slips from second to fifth in the listings after a hefty drop in sales, whilst EA’s The Sims 2: Glamour Life Stuff falls one place to six. Rockstar’s Grand Theft Auto: Liberty City Stories is also on the slide, moving from third to seventh place.

Nintendo’s New Super Mario Bros drops four spots to eight, whilst EA’s The Sims 2 drops three places to claim number nine. Nintendo’s Dr. Kawashima’s Brain Training claims tenth spot.

The only other new entry this week is Ubisoft’s Xbox 360 RPG Enchanted Arms in 27th.
