Dead Space 2 has sold twice as many copies than its predecessor did in release week.
The 360, PS3 and PC game shot to No.1 earlier this week – five positions higher than the original Dead Space did in October 2008 when it was released as a new IP.
Dead Space 2 is approaching two million units sold – double the sell-through of the original Dead Space,” EA’s COO John Schappert said during an investor call today.
Dead Space 2 hit shelves last Friday, January 28th. The gaming press has heavily praised the survival horror title, handing it a Metacritic score of 90.
EA partnered with Sony to deliver a co-marketing campaign for the game.
