Koch’s Deep Silver publishing label has snapped up the rights to distribute the game based on TV show Prison Break.
The game, commissioned in 2007, was cancelled by original publisher Brash – a Hollywood firm which made bold claims about improving the quality of licensed games, only to fail miserably – but Slovenian developer Zootfly continued to fund the project to completion.
According to a report in the LA Times’ blog, the game will now arrive at the end of the year, with some cast providing voice work.
"The cancellation was a blessing in disguise because we got to spend more time on the key gameplay features and get rid of the half-baked ideas Brash management pushed on us," Zootfly CEO Bostjan Troha said.
