Dell sponsors UK eSports Association

UK competitive games body the United Kingdom eSports Association has struck a deal with PC manufacturer Dell that sees the company become the Hardware Sponsor for the UKeSA’s first national video games tournament.

Season One of the 2009 UKeSA Dell Premiership kicked off yesterday. Coverage can be seen online at enemydown.eu, and “significant” TV coverage is also promised.

“Dell’s superb range of gaming hardware is synonymous with eSports, so for UKeSA they are the ideal partner,” UKeSA chief executive Ray Mia stated. “Having the recognition of such a world famous brand quantifies the significance of what’s happening to competitive gaming in the UK, and indeed on the larger European stage. These are exciting times.”

Dell’s director of consumer marketing David Clifton added: “Competitive gaming is gathering momentum, particularly in the UK. UKeSA have put in place the foundation and growth structure that will feed that momentum, reaching out to all British eSports hopefuls. Dell is delighted to support the UKeSA at such a significant milestone for UK gaming.”
