Demon launches game broadband service

Internet service provider Demon has introduced a new service which promises a faster broadband connection for the gaming community.

Demon Game Pro prioritises game traffic, is low latency and comes with a free wireless router for 21.99 per month. Other benefits include no off-peak usage restrictions, 24-hour customer support, speeds of up to 20MB and a free static IP address – ideal for PC players who host their own game servers.

Head of Demon Matt Cantwell said: We know how important a good broadband connection is to the gaming community, and we are excited to be launching this product which has been designed to meet the specific needs of gamers.”

The 12-month 21.99 offer runs until October 31st. Usual prices are 23.99 and 25.99 per month for the respective annual and three-month contracts.

Demon was founded in June 1992 and is one of the UK’s first Internet Service Providers. It was bought by THUS in May 1998 and acquired by Cable&Wireless in 2008.

The service provider also announced itself as a headline sponsor for this year’s Multiplay Insomnia LAN gaming events. Demon’s first sponsored expo will be the i40 which runs from August 27th to August 30th at Newbury Racecourse.

Multiplay MD Craig Fletcher added: At Insomnia40 we are looking to build on the success of i39 back in April, which saw over 100,000 gamers involved.

Our partnership with Demon is geared to provide the right technology foundation to give gamers at our iSeries events full and uninterrupted access to a range of interactive gaming.”
