Blizzard’s console port of its hit PC dungeon crawler Diablo III has finally been dated.
The game will be released on PS3 on September 3rd. The surprise move is that it will also hit Xbox 360 on the same day.
Diablo III was released on PC in May 2012 and had, as of last December, sold 12m copies worldwide.
Carrying an RRP of 49.99, the game has been custom-tailored for gamepad-driven action, with a dynamic camera perspective that puts your hero front and centre, as well as an all-new user interface and an intuitive control system that make vanquishing evil feel like second nature”.
Four-player co-op is available both locally and over the internet – or indeed a combination of both.
Those who pre-order the game will get a free Infernal Helm in-game item.
Playing Diablo III on a big screen with your friends brings a whole new level of intensity to the game, and with all of the control and interface adaptations we’ve made, it’s extremely fun to play on PS3 and Xbox 360,”Blizzard CEO and cofounder Mike Morhaime stated.
In addition to the fine-tuning we’ve done for the console versions, we’re also including major content and design updates we’ve made to the PC version over the past year, so players can expect an epic Diablo gaming experience when the PS3™ and Xbox 360 versions launch in September.”
