Dr Kawashima conquers Europe

Seemingly not content with bossing the UK charts, Nintendo is also performing well in both Germany and Spain – and it’s new DS title More Brain Training from Dr Kawashima that’s proving to be the star performer.

The brain-twisting sequel tops the All Formats charts in both territories – whilst its predecessor, Dr Kawashima’s Brain Training, claims second spot in Germany and third in Spain, according to data from MC-Gfk.

The German top ten is dominated by Nintendo, with five of its titles residing in the top eight. A further three of the top eight – Ubisoft pair The Settlers and harvest Moon and Eidos’ Pony Friends – are DS-only. The only non-Nintendo products are Blizzard’s World of Warcraft at number nine and EA’s The Sims: H&M Fashion Accessories in tenth spot.

Nintendo’s success in Spain is slightly less emphatic, though still impressive, with three titles – More Brain Training, Wii Play and Animal Crossing, making the listings. Elsewhere in the Spanish chart, Konami’s Pro Evolution Soccer 6 claims second and fourth spots thanks to the success of both the PS2 and PSP version.
